Privacy notice
Your privacy, in plain words.
Last updated 18 October 2026. Consent text version 2026-10-18.
The short version
- The Macophone apps never send your messages, calls, files or anything else to us. Data moves only between your own phone and your own Mac, on your own network.
- This website sets no cookies and has no analytics, ads, trackers or third-party scripts, fonts or embeds.
- If you join the waitlist, we keep your email. We use it only to invite you to the beta and to send you updates about Macophone.
- You can ask us to delete it at any time: privacy@3amlabs.dev.
Who we are
3AM Labs ("we") makes Macophone and decides how the waitlist data is used, which makes us the personal information controller for it. For anything about your data, including questions for our data protection officer, write to privacy@3amlabs.dev.
The Macophone apps
The phone app and the Mac app talk to each other directly over your local network, encrypted with TLS 1.3 and pinned to each other's keys when you pair. There is no Macophone server, account or cloud service. The apps contain no analytics and no advertising, and they do not send us crash reports or usage data. Pairing keys stay in the Android Keystore and the macOS Keychain, and the apps' logs record message types and sizes, never content.
This website
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare processes technical details of each request, such as your IP address and browser type, under its own data processing terms. We do not run analytics and do not keep visitor logs of our own.
What we collect when you join the waitlist
- Your email address (required).
- When you signed up and which version of the consent text you agreed to, so we can show that you consented.
- A one-way, salted hash of your IP address, kept for no more than a day, only to stop automated sign-up abuse. We cannot turn it back into your IP address.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use this data to invite you to try Macophone, to choose testers across different phones and Macs, and to email you updates about Macophone. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 this is consent under section 12(a); if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, it is consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect what happened before.
Who else handles it
The waitlist is stored in a Cloudflare database, and a notice of each new sign-up is emailed to our own mailbox through Cloudflare. Cloudflare acts as our service provider under its data processing terms and may process the data in other countries, including the United States. We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or 12 months after Macophone is publicly released, whichever comes first. If the beta ends without a release, we delete the list within 3 months of that decision.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, delete or block it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw your consent. Write to privacy@3amlabs.dev from the address you signed up with and we will reply within 30 days. Every update email also tells you how to leave the list. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines (privacy.gov.ph) or to the data protection authority where you live.
How we protect it
Data is sent to us over HTTPS and stored by Cloudflare. Access is limited to the 3AM Labs team's account, which requires two-factor sign-in. Sign-ups are checked for abuse without tracking you.
Age
The waitlist is meant for people aged 18 or over.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we will update the date above. If a change affects how we use your waitlist data, we will email you before it takes effect.
